Who we are
GradeHarbour is the data controller for information submitted through this website.
What we collect
Parent contact details, information about the student’s studies that you choose to give us, and tutor application details. We ask only for what we need to match and to keep children safe.
How we use it
To match students with tutors, arrange lessons, carry out tutor checks and meet our legal duties. We do not sell personal data.
Lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we rely mainly on steps taken at your request before entering a contract, our legitimate interests in running the service safely, and legal obligations for safeguarding checks.
Marketing emails
We only send news, new courses and learning resources by email if you tick the marketing box on one of our forms. Ticking it is not a condition of using our service. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. We may use an email service provider (for example Mailchimp or Brevo) to send these emails.
Live chat
If you use the chat button on our website, we collect the name, email address and messages you give us so that we can answer your question and follow up on matching. Only our team can read these chats, and we do not use them for marketing unless you agree separately. Chats are deleted automatically 12 months after the last message, and you can ask us to delete them sooner at any time. Please do not share sensitive personal details about your child in the chat.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
