How matching works
How we match your child with a tutor
Matching is done by people, not by an algorithm alone. Here is what happens after you send a request.
Step 1 / 5
You send a request
- Subject, exam board and tier if known
- Year group and target
- Online or in person, and your postcode district
- Teaching language and any preferences, such as examiner experience
Step 2 / 5
We read it and may call you
- A member of our team reads every request
- If something is unclear, we contact you by your chosen method
- We aim to reply within two working days
Step 3 / 5
We shortlist approved tutors
- Only tutors who have passed every check
- We confirm their availability first
- You receive up to three options, with the reasons for each
Step 4 / 5
First lesson
- We arrange the time and format
- Parents are welcome to join the start of the first lesson
- Afterwards, we check how it went
Step 5 / 5
Carry on, or change tutor
- If it is not the right fit, we suggest someone else
- After lessons, you may be invited to leave a review
- Reviews are published only with your consent
What matching costs
Tutors set their own hourly rate, shown on their profile. We will confirm any platform fee in writing before the first lesson.
Integration pending: pricing and paymentsIf we cannot find a match
We will tell you honestly, explain why, and suggest alternatives such as online lessons or a different time slot.
